Creators of Kub-M Nuclear Bunker Arrested
Two senior employees of a scientific institute have been arrested on charges of receiving large bribes. They were involved in developing the protective structure 'Kub-M'.

Law enforcement agencies have detained the head of the Research Center for Improving Protective Measures at the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defence and Emergencies (VNII GOChS), Nikolai Posokhov, and the deputy head of the institute, Igor Sosunov. Both have been charged with receiving bribes on an especially large scale.
A criminal case has been initiated under the article on bribery on an especially large scale. VNII GOChS is engaged in developments in the field of civil defense, prevention, and liquidation of emergency situations.
As Nikolai Posokhov noted earlier in an interview, in 2015 the institute began work on the modular protective structure «Kub-M». In its maximum configuration, it is capable of protecting against direct hits from modern missiles.
«Kub-M» also serves as a shelter from nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. Its serial production began in autumn 2024.
The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia has sent petitions to the Zamoskvoretsky District Court of Moscow to select a preventive measure for the accused.
