Chibis reports avoiding home freezes in Murmansk, Severomorsk

Street lighting is not working
In Murmansk and Severomorsk, restrictions on electricity supply for some consumers remain, including homes, shops, pharmacies, and street lighting. This was reported by Governor Andrey Chibis on his Telegram channel.
«Thanks to clear, strict organization, we managed to avoid the freezing of hundreds of homes in Murmansk and Severomorsk. We have powered all boiler houses, water supply facilities, and medical institutions,» said the head of the region.
All emergency and operational services: energy workers, employees of management companies, housing and communal services, and Rosseti (Russian grid operator) are working in enhanced mode, and many entrepreneurs and organizations are actively helping northerners. Moreover, the first pylons have been brought to the Arctic region from Karelia, with more expected from Leningrad Oblast.
«Regarding the pylons: installation of temporary structures continues. I express huge gratitude to colleagues from neighboring regions for their work on-site in liquidation and organizing the delivery of pylons. I thank entrepreneurs, organizations, all caring northerners who are helping their fellow countrymen and staying in good spirits! In this situation, it is more important than ever to be united and caring towards each other,» commented Chibis.
Recall that in Murmansk Oblast, a state of high alert was introduced due to power outages. This decision was made at a meeting of the operational headquarters. In Murmansk streets, lighting was temporarily turned off.
The press service of Rosseti Severo-Zapad (Rosseti North-West) reported that the cause of the outage was a technological failure on an overhead power line. Later it became known that 5 pylons collapsed. Trolleybuses in Murmansk changed their routes.
The prosecutor«s office of Murmansk Oblast has already begun an inspection due to mass power outages. A criminal case has been initiated, and in Leninsky District, rotational power cuts have been introduced.
Murmansk residents were told where they can go to warm up and charge electronic devices. And city entrepreneurs are ready to provide food from their main menu at a discount. Also, interactive maps with useful addresses have been prepared for citizens.
The consequences of the accident continue to be eliminated, Rosseti North-West brought additional snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles to the emergency site, the first pylons have already been delivered to the Arctic region from Karelia. Meanwhile, in the oblast, there are communication disruptions. Large city hotels have already joined in helping residents: they can charge devices and eat at a discount.
