The morning of January 22 began unusually for St. Petersburg resident Victoria: her recently adopted cat escaped from the apartment and got into the electrical room. Not only did the animal climb inside, but it also fell about a meter down. The rescue operation lasted from seven to eleven in the morning.

Rescuers worked for hours to free a cat trapped deep inside an electrical panel in a St. Petersburg apartment building.
«The cat is huge, and how he got into the open electrical panel is a complete mystery. After that, he fell a meter down inside. The rescuers arrived. They broke the wall at the bottom, tried to pull him out, but he kept scrambling back up. A second team of rescuers arrived. The guys had to pull him out by hand,» shared the owner, Victoria, detailing the event.

According to her, the pet was very frightened. When he was being extracted and placed into a carrier, he meowed loudly. «The cat was born under a lucky star. He might not have made it at all. Everything there [in the panel] was live,» the woman noted.

Victoria had taken the cat in just a week earlier, saving it from the cold. On the day of the incident, the pet received a name—Volt.
