In an interview given on January 24, the parliamentarian explained that the technical implementation of a complete VPN ban is difficult.
«It is technically difficult to ban. We are not going in that direction. Our path is to ban VPN advertising,» Boyarsky stated.
The deputy warned of the dangers associated with the use of such services.
According to him, VPN nullifies the state«s efforts to protect citizens, in particular from malicious content and fraudulent schemes.
«If you live with VPN turned on, all the state»s efforts spent on preventing teenagers from encountering suicide groups, terrorists, pedophiles, are nullified,« he said.
Boyarsky added that similar risks exist for victims of financial scams.
«All blocks are introduced for your safety!» emphasized the committee chairman.

At the same time, officials have repeatedly stated that the introduction of fines for ordinary VPN service users is not planned.
