Bastrykin Orders Check on Volgograd High-Rise Construction Legality

General Alexander Bastrykin has taken control of the construction of a new apartment building in the Krasnoarmeysky district of Volgograd. According to residents of neighboring residential complexes, the new building violates urban planning standards and poses a fire safety threat.

Residents of the «Admiraltisky» residential complex recorded a video appeal to the head of the Russian Investigative Committee. Between the new high-rises, the developer company decided to build another house, which, according to citizens, will deprive them of the possibility of normal existence: the distance between the walls of the houses will be 36 meters instead of the legally required 50, causing residents to see gray buildings of the squeezed-in high-rise instead of a courtyard and clear sky from their windows, and the number of parking spaces will be significantly less than the number of cars.

The head of the department immediately responded, instructing the regional branch of the Investigative Committee to conduct an inspection and report on its results.

— Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin instructed the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Volgograd Region, Vasily Semenov, to conduct a procedural check and present a report on the circumstances established during the initial inspection activities, and upon completion of the inspection — on its results, — the information center of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported.
