The region has once again raised the issue of banning e-scooters. The head of Stavropol Krai believes that clear rules for the use of such vehicles need to be established. However, before implementing regulations, authorities decided to seek the opinion of local residents.

In winter, e-scooters are rarely seen on the roads in Stavropol Krai, but even in icy conditions, some do not give up using such transport, despite the increased risk to their own health and the safety of other road users. What will happen during warmer periods? Regional Governor Vladimir Vladimirov has raised this issue again.

«I believe that clear and understandable rules for those using e-scooters need to be established in Stavropol Krai to ensure the safety of other road users. Last summer, I conducted a poll on social media on this matter. The majority voted to leave everything as is. However, time shows that the situation on roads and sidewalks is not getting any easier. A regional law will allow us to influence it. It is currently being developed,» the head wrote on his social media.

Despite the fact that official rules are already being developed, the opinion of local residents was still decided to be sought. This time, the poll is being conducted on the Gosuslugi portal, and votes are being accepted until February 4.

Recall that the previous voting was held on June 30. This was prompted by a tragic incident in which an e-scooter rider hit an elderly pedestrian on the sidewalk, resulting in the victim«s death. However, the results of the poll outraged residents of the region. Some were convinced that the outcome was influenced by a bot invasion, as 33% voted to take no action.
