Authorities Cancel Electricity Payments During Murmansk Blackout
The emergency situation means residents will not have to pay for the affected period.
Residents of Murmansk and Severomorsk will not be charged for electricity during the power outages. This was announced by the region«s governor, Andrey Chibis, on RBC TV.
The authorities of the Murmansk region made this decision after an accident on power transmission lines.
«This is an emergency situation. No payments will be taken for the period when there was no electricity,» clarified Chibis.
Earlier, Andrey Chibis stated that in the Murmansk region, a power supply line was installed on temporary supports, and later, residents of Murmansk and Severomorsk began having power testily restored to their apartments.
Recall that a state of emergency was introduced in the Murmansk region. Full restoration of power supply after the accident may take at least a week. The Murmansk Region Prosecutor«s Office has already launched an investigation due to the mass power outages. A criminal case has been initiated.
