Arcade owner explains why iPhone 16 prize was missing

The owner of the arcade machine, in which a nine-year-old schoolgirl won an iPhone 16 but received low-quality chocolate, explained why this happened. He gave his comment to journalists from «TVK».

Recall that the girl often played the machine and really wanted to win a smartphone. When she succeeded, she unpacked the box at home, and inside was low-quality chocolate.

First, the machine owner compensated the girl«s family with one thousand rubles (about $11 at current rates), explaining that it was compensation for the chocolate. After that, they contacted the girl»s grandmother again.

«She said that the girl is very upset that it»s just chocolate. A meeting to hand over the iPhone was scheduled in 2 days, the girl received her desired prize, there are no complaints,« he tells »TVK« journalists.

The NGS24.RU correspondent noted that in the box was not the advertised iPhone 16, but a smartphone of an older model — iPhone 14. Nevertheless, the schoolgirl is still very happy that she received this gift.

The owner himself explains — on the machine itself there is a notification that the game is purely for entertainment and the prize is not the goal of the game.

«It is a simulator in which you train your dexterity and accuracy. Comments were given both to the police and to the juvenile affairs department (PDN). To avoid such misunderstandings, there will be no more prizes,» the man clarified.

Earlier, NGS24.RU reported that this incident also interested Rospotrebnadzor (the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing), and on one of such machines in Krasnoyarsk, our journalist noticed a notice — it states that due to numerous complaints, investigators (from Omsk Oblast — Ed.) demanded the removal of arcade machines, as the use of gaming equipment for conducting gambling games, including with money, is illegal.
