Today, January 26, in Kurgan, Russia, due to freezing temperatures, classes have been cancelled in city schools for grades 1 through 4 of the first shift, as reported on the city administration«s website. Classes will be held using remote learning technologies.

According to the Kurgan Center for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring, the morning temperature was -27°C (-17°F). Daytime highs are expected to range from -22°C to -24°C (-8°F to -11°F), with variable cloudiness, mostly no precipitation, and icy conditions in some areas.

The Hydrometeorological Center of Russia forecasts that frosty weather will continue through the night of January 27, with temperatures dropping to -23°C (-9°F) on the night of January 28. A slight warming trend is anticipated in the coming days.
