New Vkusno — i Tochka Restaurant to Open in Novo-Lenino

The Vkusno — i Tochka fast-food restaurant will appear in the Novo-Lenino district of Irkutsk, the city hall press service told the IrCity portal on January 30.

Currently, there are four outlets of this fast-food chain in Irkutsk: on Rabochaya Street, and in the shopping centers «Modny Kvartal», «YarkoMoll», and «SilverMoll».

As the administration explained, a separate building with an area of 400 square meters will be constructed for this purpose on Rosa Luxemburg Street in Novo-Lenino.

«It is expected that the investment agreement between the regional government, the city hall, and the company that will handle the construction and operation of the new catering facility will be signed by the parties by the end of February,» the city hall said.

The city hall did not disclose the name of the investor company. One of the project participants will be the «Irkutsk Region Development Corporation», which will oversee pre-project surveys and the development of the project and estimate. They aim to put the facility into operation in mid-2028.

The Vkusno — i Tochka chain replaced McDonald«s, which left after the start of the special military operation. The Russian segment of the business was acquired by entrepreneur Alexander Govor. Since June 12, 2022, former McDonald»s restaurants in Russia began opening under the new name Vkusno — i Tochka.

The opening of McDonald«s in Irkutsk had been awaited since 2021, when the company signed an agreement with the governor of Irkutsk Region, Igor Kobzev. The plan was to open eight establishments within five years.

In 2024, it became known that restaurants of the chain would indeed appear in Irkutsk. Initially, only one establishment was discussed, near «Fortuna», but then, after criticism from residents, the number of restaurants was increased first to two, and then — to three. Another restaurant was opened in Angarsk in August. At the end of 2024, a restaurant opened in «YarkoMoll». The last to open was the outlet near «Fortuna» — in February 2025.

One Irkutsk resident jokingly tried to sell a bag from an order at Vkusno — i Tochka on a free classifieds website for 1 million rubles (approximately $11,100 at current rates).
