Samara Oblast sees parents of ten or more children in 2025

Samara Oblast's Civil Registry Office has released 2025 data showing hundreds of large families, with five families welcoming a tenth child. The records also include the region's oldest new parents and unusual baby names.

The regional Civil Registry Office Committee shared unusual records from the past year. For example, 273 Samara families had twins, while four had triplets. The oldest father in 2025 was a 74-year-old Samara resident, and the oldest mother was a 51-year-old woman from the oblast.

But the most impressive data concerned large families.

«In 537 Samara families, the child born in 2025 became the family»s fifth child; in 181 families it was the sixth; in 53 families—the seventh; in 29 families—the eighth; in 18 families—the ninth; in 5 families—the tenth; in 2 families—the eleventh,« reported the Civil Registry Office Committee of Samara Oblast.

The Committee also listed the rarest and most unusual names given to Samara babies born in 2025. Parents gave it their all, so somewhere in the oblast, babies named Vsemir, Colt, Kosmos (Cosmos), Panteleimon, Savvatiy, Matryona, Ofeliya (Ophelia), Pavla, and Fevroniya are cooing, riding in strollers, and preparing to take their first steps.
