How Sveta Stavnich Rose to Social Media Stardom

Blogger Sveta Stavnich has long ceased to be a simple girl from Surgut. Today, hundreds of thousands of people follow her, and her videos garner millions of views, but the path to popularity was thorny and at times absurd. Here«s how she became famous and what she does now.

«Did Everything for the Dream»

Sveta Stavnich was born and raised in Surgut. Her parents worked in a correctional colony: her father as a prison guard, her mother as a nurse. At age 7, the girl first visited Moscow. She fell head over heels in love with the city and decided to move there when she turned 18.

«I didn»t want to get a higher education; I realized I needed to save money on my own for the move and studies. After the 9th grade, I entered college to study law, wanting to work in prison like my parents. They constantly told me about convicts: who was in, who got out. And I was wildly interested in it,« Sveta Stavnich shared her memories.

Parallel to her studies, she worked as a manicurist and earned «good money» for it. Her work schedule was packed—29–30 days a month. Sveta admits that she «did everything to fulfill the dream,» and at age 19, it came true.

In her third year of college, the girl abandoned the idea of working in prison. Even her parents« arguments about early retirement weren»t convincing enough for her. She enrolled in the Ostankino School.
«In college, I was surrounded by lowlifes. I thought, do I really want to tie my life to such people? And I enrolled in television and radio journalism,» the blogger said.
Stand-up and Work on TV
She didn«t like studying her major because students were taught to »sit quietly and speak in an announcer«s voice.» Stavnich won a competition and received an invitation to participate in filming for Elena Letuchaya«s show on STS. She enjoyed working on the set, so she got a job as a casting director on the channel »Pyatnitsa.« She wrote to the producer for half a year to be hired and achieved her goal. Sveta looked for heroes for projects like »Bitva svatov« (»Battle of the In-Laws«), »Ya strochu« (»I Sew«), »Patsanki« (»Tomboy Girls«), »Zovi menya mamoy« (»Call Me Mom«), and others.
The blogger said on social media that she also wanted to be on camera, so she started developing in stand-up. For a year, she visualized her performances but was afraid to start. When she finally decided, she wrote dirty jokes in two months and went on stage... She faced failure. There was dead silence in the hall.
«I came home and wrote a minute and a half of jokes about how my father is a prison guard and how he deloused me for lice at age seven. I performed with these jokes, and people laughed,» Sveta recalls.
Later, she tried her hand at a stand-up festival, but due to an unsuccessful joke about Irina Myagkova (creator and creative producer of the program «Zhensky stand-up» on TNT. — Ed.), she was «kicked out on the spot.»
«I realized that to get on television projects and be a competitive comedian, you have to grind,» Stavnich noted.
A series of failures did not affect Stavnich«s desire to further develop as a comedian. She continued writing jokes, participated in castings, and performed 5–10 times a week. Parallelly, she tried working in a restaurant but didn»t get along with teams, and returned to the position of casting director, this time on «Pervy Kanal» (Channel One). And everything fell into place.
Sveta Stavnich started recording funny skits that went viral for millions of views, and collaboration offers poured in. The blogger became an ambassador for the clothing store «Tvoye.» She was invited to perform in other cities, and then she was called to «Stand-up Ruletka» on TNT.
Each participant goes on stage and jokes for one minute. If the audience thinks the joke is funny, the common bank is replenished with money. After the performance, the comedian goes to the end of the «queue,» and the next one comes to the microphone. Whoever remains last gets the opportunity to increase the prize and take it for themselves.
Her crown joke about her father—the prison guard—almost led her to victory. It came down to just five seconds, and, according to the blogger, possible biased attitude from host Ilya Sobolev. In general, Stavnich didn«t manage to win the project, but she was glad she made it to the end.
Humor and Social Media
In 2025, the girl stated that she wants to leave stand-up. Now she works at TNT and continues to share funny skits on social media. We«ve gathered a small selection of the girl»s videos to lift your mood:
Everyone in school had «patsanki» — they were «given away» by their makeup. Typically, these were wide, clearly outlined eyebrows, long eyeliner wings, and mismatching yellow foundation. And, of course, the speech, as in the video.
Any job to some extent affects speech, thinking, and even style of dress. In this video, Stavnich good-naturedly collected a small part of operatives« habits. »Grazhdansky« (»civilian«), »u apparata« (»at the apparatus«), »dobro« (»good«) — do you recognize the phrases?
In this video, the blogger collected the most popular phrases of those who post «year-end summaries» on social media. «Experience gained, conclusions drawn, focus on me» — many use these stereotypical expressions, which bring a smile.
The first video that went viral on her blog and brought an audience was a parody of actor portfolios. Over her time working in television, she had watched a great many of them. Stavnich long postponed this idea. Another favorite image of subscribers is the «crazy girl» or «patsanka.» The blogger admits that she used to be like that herself, so she masterfully gets into the role.
«I needed to develop the blog, and I started actively shooting videos, literally from morning till evening, then through analysis I understood that people like it when I parody someone. Fortunately, I like it too. I»m glad that no one gets offended, and everyone understands that it«s just for fun,» Sveta Stavnich said.
Earlier we wrote about the path to fame of the actor from Nefteyugansk Evgeny Tokarev and in which films and series he can be seen now.
