A participant in the Special Military Operation (SVO), Nikolai Vasilyev, who was born and raised in the hamlet of Kletsko-Pochtovsky, recorded a video address in which he asks to preserve the school in his hometown. According to the man, the educational institution is planned for reorganization, which, in his opinion, will lead to the slow death of his native settlement.

«I am currently on the SVO for the fourth year now. I am defending our Motherland in the hope of a better, bright future for my children. And at this time, in my small homeland, a real sabotage is taking place,» the man says. «The schools of the Serafimovich district, including Kletsko-Pochtovskaya, the secondary school where I studied, my wife studied, and our children are now studying, are planned to be reorganized. That is, to be attached to one Serafimovich school. The district administration has repeatedly tried to do this before, but the residents of the hamlet defended the school»s right to be independent. We all know what such experiments with education lead to. Rural schools are ultimately closed to save budget, without thinking about people.«

According to the man, a village without a school is doomed to extinction:

«I would like to return to a place that has a future. In such difficult times, the authorities must be united with their people, must listen to their opinion, must think not about saving the budget, but about the future of people and the entire country as a whole. We, participants in the SVO from the Kletsko-Pochtovsky rural settlement, are categorically against reorganization and liquidation in any form, including in the form of making Kletsko-Pochtovskaya School of the Serafimovich district a branch. We will fight for the future of our children, for our school and its head. We ask the administration of the Volgograd region, the committee of education and science of the Volgograd region, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation to pay attention to the problem of making schools branches in the Serafimovich district of the Volgograd region in 2026.»

On 30 January, a meeting of residents was held at the school, which was attended by the head of the district, Tatyana Ilyina.

«From the very beginning of the meeting, the residents of the hamlet clearly showed their civic position, stating their negative opinion about the reorganization of the school in any form. The dialogue initially did not go according to the district administration»s plan, as the residents already had experience of reorganization attempts in 2018 and 2022, and were informed on this issue. Moreover, graduates of the school, working in investigative committee bodies, prosecutor«s offices, and other higher authorities, provide legal assistance and moral support,» local residents said. «Residents expressed their clear negative position on this problem, also asked many troubling questions, but Tatyana Nikolaevna essentially could not answer any question. She periodically emphasized improving the quality of education in the Serafimovich district, which will become even higher thanks to the reorganization of all schools in the district and their consolidation into one legal entity.

She promised that all schools will remain in their legal places, the workload for teachers will not decrease, but they will travel to neighboring schools to improve the quality of education.«

The villagers insistently asked the authorities to find funds to replenish the budget without harming children and all education in the Serafimovich district, and for managers to learn to find funds in accordance with the project for the development of rural territories and increasing demographics in rural areas.

«People expressed their wish to the head of the Kletsko-Pochtovsky rural settlement about the need to hold an official meeting with recording of participants of this event and documentary accounting of the opinion of the settlement»s residents on this issue, to officially record their categorically negative point of view on this matter. The residents understood and heard the administration«s position, and once again became convinced that they must defend the interests of their children, their hamlet and its administration, since in such difficult times our strength is only in our unity,» the villagers assure.

V1.RU is clarifying the prospects for the school«s reorganization with the committee of education and science of the Volgograd region.

Recall that earlier in the Kotovsky district the oldest school in the Volgograd region closed — Pereshchepnovskaya OSH, which was a branch of the Mokro-Olkhovskaya secondary school. The reason in the corresponding resolution was indicated as the absence of students.
