The mother of a student at School No. 27 in the Severny, 50 microdistrict of Chita complained about the cold in the classrooms and a changed canteen menu that, after the holidays, began to include only milk-based porridges. The press secretary of the city«s education committee, Geser Radnaev, commented on the information to a Chita.Ru correspondent on January 28.

«It»s just freezing in there, the children and teachers are cold: radiators work in some places, in others they don«t. And also, when the children returned from the holidays, they started being fed only porridge every day, although before that there was a varied menu: pasta, rice, buckwheat, nuggets, chicken. Now they»ve said the budget was cut and they will only cook milk porridges. In the end, the children come home hungry,« the source said.

The press secretary of the education committee reported that the temperature in the school«s premises is 64–72°F (18–22°C), which complies with sanitary legislation requirements.

Regarding the meals, Radnaev clarified that the approved diet should include milk porridges, omelets, casseroles, soups, rice, buckwheat, pasta, potatoes, cutlets, liver, chicken, stewed fruit, cocoa, and tea. Due to the received complaint, the education committee will conduct an inspection to check the compliance of the actual diet with the approved menu.

Students of School No. 49 were transferred to distance learning due to the cold in the premises. The management is waiting for TGC-14 to resolve the issue with the coolant parameters.
