Omsk Technical University Enters World University Rankings

Omsk Technical University has entered the world ranking of best universities, THE World University Rankings, in engineering. This was reported by the educational institution itself. Besides the polytechnic, no other Omsk universities were on the list.
«It placed in the 1251+ position in the overall list and ranked 44th among Russian universities, becoming the only representative from Omsk Oblast. The ranking authors used 18 performance indicators for universities, grouped into five main areas: research quality, industry, international perspective, teaching, and research environment. In the last two, the polytechnic improved its indicators compared to 2025,» said the university«s press service.
In total, over 1.5 thousand universities from 98 countries participated in the study. The ranking considered 11 fields: arts and humanities, business and economics, engineering, medicine and healthcare, psychology, and others.
The THE World University Rankings of best universities is compiled annually by the British agency Quacquarelli Symonds. The evaluation of universities consists of 18 criteria, distributed across five groups: teaching, research environment, research quality, international connections, and industry involvement.
