Don Schools to Introduce Behavior Grades: What Residents Think

In Don schools, as across Russia, grades for behavior will be introduced starting September 1, 2026. The Ministry of Education has already prepared a draft order. Residents« opinions on this are divided. Some see no point in the innovation. Others believe it will help avoid failing grades in school subjects that are given due to poor behavior. We collected comments from readers of 161.RU.

«And moving through the school in lockstep only as a class.»

«And what about children with ADHD? There are no special schools for them, but it»s hard for them to sit still like a statue. This is the category of children who will consistently get a failing grade in behavior.«
«And will there be responsibility for parents? They can»t or don«t want to raise their child, and in the end, because of one or two good-for-nothings, the whole class can»t gain knowledge.«
«Family and parents raise children, school and teachers impart knowledge.»
«No, we shouldn»t grade, it«s not a market. But we should educate the young generation.»
«They already exist. Picked up a pen from the floor — the teacher gives a failing grade in Russian. Turned your head — same story.»
The pilot project started in 2025 in seven regions — these are Novgorod, Tula, Yaroslavl, Leningrad regions, Luhansk People«s Republic (LNR), Chechnya and Mordovia.
