Creative, artistic, and athletic medical students honored in Chita

Studying at a medical university requires full dedication, yet at ChSMA (Chita State Medical Academy), student life is not limited to lectures and practicals. Future doctors find time for creativity, sports, and public activities. A separate part of the rector«s reception, held on January 27, was dedicated to these areas.

The rector«s reception is an annual celebration at the medical academy, where the achievements of students, postgraduate students, and residents who achieve significant results in studies, science, public, and professional activities are honored.

The festive atmosphere was set by performances of the ChSMA student choir, the ensemble of the peoples of the Caucasus «Echo of the Mountains,» and the dance group «Urgy.» These and many other creative associations are part of the active public life of the university, where students can realize their potential.

That is why several nominations of the rector«s reception were dedicated to extracurricular activities, because at ChSMA, students can find themselves outside the classroom walls.

The «Constellation of Talents» nomination recognized the creative achievements of students who make the cultural life of the Academy bright and rich.

«Studying at a medical university requires a lot of resources, but if there is a desire to realize oneself outside the classrooms — time is always found. Now is the brightest period of life — student years — and at ChSMA, the balance is maintained in this sense: the rectorate and deans support those who manage to study and perform on stage. It is nice that the invested work is noticed — such moments give even more motivation to move forward,» said one of the winners of the nomination, a student of the Faculty of Medicine, Diana Voronova.

The «Upward Movement» nomination united those for whom sports have become an important part of student life. In November 2025, the ChSMA volleyball team took first place in the All-Russian competitions among students of medical and pharmaceutical educational organizations — the «Medic»s Cup« in Tomsk. The victory was the result of systematic work and real team cohesion.

«It is very pleasant that the entire team was invited to the rector»s reception — our victory is known by the entire rectorate and dean«s office. We represented ChSMA at the all-Russian level and defeated the strongest medical and pharmaceutical universities in the country. Studying at a medical university is difficult, but sports help to reboot and relax,» noted the team player, a student of the Faculty of Medicine, Daniil Ulyanov.

Also awarded were students who actively participate in the public life of the university and help develop the student community. For this, there was a separate nomination — «Academic Navigator.»

«It is possible to combine studies with an active life at the university, the main thing is to properly distribute time. Participation in the life of the academy helps to find future colleagues and reveal oneself in different directions. The profession of a doctor is multifaceted and not limited to clinical work,» shared one of the winners of the nomination, a student of the pediatric faculty, Arsen Simonyan.

The rector«s reception showed that the Chita State Medical Academy forms not only professionals, but also well-rounded, active people, for whom student years become a time of growth, teamwork, and bright victories.
