Pension social supplement in Arkhangelsk Oblast now calculated under new rules
The regional social supplement to pension is now set and paid by the Social Fund of Russia (SFR) Branch for Arkhangelsk Oblast and the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (NAO). The new rule has been in effect since January 1. Until 2026, this was handled by the social protection authorities.
This social supplement is available to non-working pensioners whose total financial support does not reach the subsistence minimum (in Arkhangelsk Oblast — 18,893 rubles (about $210 at current rates), in NAO — 26,712 rubles (about $297 at current rates)). According to the Social Fund, over 31,000 pensioners in Pomorye receive it.
In Arkhangelsk Oblast and NAO, the regional social supplement for January was transferred by the SFR Branch on January 13. In the future, the funds will be issued along with the pension.
«The amount of the regional social supplement to pension is individual for each person. It is determined as the difference between the subsistence minimum for pensioners set in the region and the total sum of their financial support. A pensioner«s income includes not only the pension but also separate social payments, as well as compensation for housing and utility costs,» the Social Fund explains.
The regional social supplement is processed on a no-application basis, meaning pensioners do not need to visit SFR client services to apply for it. The right to the supplement is determined independently by Social Fund specialists.
