Four categories of pensioners to receive raises in February

On 1 February, a planned increase in pension payments for certain categories of citizens will take place in Russia. The changes are targeted and will primarily affect elderly pensioners, for whom the fixed part of the pension will be doubled.
Octogenarians and Group 1 Disabled
The increase will affect two key categories of recipients of the old-age insurance pension:
Pensioners who have reached 80 years of age. They are entitled to a doubled fixed payment.
Disabled people of Group I. They also receive a double fixed payment, regardless of age.
Payment amounts
The fixed payment (FP) is the state-guaranteed basic part of the insurance pension. For most pensioners, its amount from 1 January 2026 is 9,584.69 rubles (approx. $107 at current rates) after a 7.6% indexation.
For citizens over 80 and those with Group I disabilities, this amount is doubled. The increased fixed payment from 1 February will be 19,169.38 rubles (approx. $213 at current rates) per month.
In addition, pensioners over 80 are entitled to an extra monthly care allowance of 1,413.86 rubles (approx. $16 at current rates). This can be claimed by any non-working, able-bodied citizen (even a non-relative) providing the care.
How the recalculation works
It happens automatically. For most recipients, pension payments will be recalculated by the Social Fund of Russia without any application. The increased payment for pensioners over 80 starts from the month following their birthday.
Important: If a citizen is already classified as Group I disabled, they will not receive a second similar supplement upon turning 80. The double fixed payment in this case is already assigned on different grounds.
Miners and flight crew members
Former miners and flight crew members will also receive a supplement in February. This is a monthly top-up to the pension for work in harmful and dangerous conditions. Its amount is reviewed four times a year: on 1 February, 1 May, 1 August, and 1 November.
Only non-working pensioners with the required special work experience in these industries can qualify for this supplement. If they start working (even in these same professions), the top-up payment is suspended.
Payments
The payment amount is individual for each person. It is calculated based on special work experience, average monthly earnings, and the amount of insurance contributions received by the Pension Fund from industry organizations in the previous quarter. To receive payments, pilots and miners must have worked 25 years, while women in these professions need 20 years of experience. The required length of service is reduced by five years if work had to be stopped due to health reasons.
How to apply
The recalculation occurs automatically based on data from the Pension Fund and industry registries. No application is required.
The main indexation of insurance pensions for all non-working pensioners was already carried out from 1 January 2026.
