Cultural Worker in Tyumen Laments Low Salary and Poor Prospects

Tyumen resident Svetlana (name changed) works in the cultural sector. In response to articles about the salaries of doctors and teachers, the woman also shared her income with the editorial office of 72.RU. By her own admission, it leaves much to be desired.
«I receive 50,000 rubles (approximately $500) a month. The salary is just to survive, for bread. Living with such an income is very boring and sad, sometimes you don«t see any point in living. After all, what lies ahead? A meager pension and ailments!», the woman wrote.
Now Svetlana is about 60 years old, and retirement is «still far away». But she already wants to treat chronic ailments — to go to the south and rest from the Tyumen climate. However, the Tyumen resident cannot afford this.
«I want more sunshine, but there isn«t any. And at work, you»re there from start to finish, it«s already tough with age. You have to save on everything, but you don»t even know what to save on anymore», the cultural worker said.
This and other materials were prepared using a special anonymous form that we created to measure the real standard of living of Tyumen residents. You can also fill it out; it helps us see how city residents actually live. Link here.
Earlier we wrote about a math teacher from Tyumen. She earns 55,000 rubles (approximately $550) a month, but that«s not enough to live on, so she has to take on extra work. This forces the woman to face a choice — work or family.
