Yaroslavl Museums Offer Free Entry with Conditions

The Yaroslavl Museum-Reserve celebrates its 161st anniversary on Sunday, January 25, offering free access to its main sites and several affiliated museums, though some exhibitions and tours require separate tickets.

On Sunday, January 25, the Yaroslavl Museum-Reserve will celebrate its 161st birthday. In honor of the occasion, free admission will be offered to the exhibitions of the museum-reserve, the Museum of Military Glory, the memorial house-museum of L. V. Sobinov, and the «Cosmos» museum in the village of Nikulskoye.

«A general ticket is required for the territory and most exhibitions/expositions. Separate tickets must be purchased for tours, film screenings, and the »Treasures of Yaroslavl« exposition (12+). This can be done at the museum-reserve»s ticket offices or online,« commented the museum-reserve.

With a general ticket, access is granted to the territory, permanent exhibitions, and the new exhibition «Axes and Bears».

  • 09:00 – 20:00 — territory;

  • 12:00 — bell ringing;

  • 10:00 – 18:00 — expositions «History of the Yaroslavl Region in the 16th–18th Centuries» (0+), «The Tale of Igor»s Campaign« (6+), exhibitions »Fair« (0+), »Yaroslavl-Style Feast« (0+), »Yaroslavl Electric Theater. Early 20th Century« (6+), »1914–1918: Stories of People from the Forgotten War« (6+);

  • 10:00 – 20:00 — exhibition »Axes and Bears« (0+).

With a separate ticket:

  • 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 14:30, 15:30 — exposition «Treasures of Yaroslavl» (12+);

  • 11:00, 14:00 — «Church of John the Baptist in Tolchkovo Sloboda» (12+), documentary film in the «Classics» hall;

    12:00, 15:00 «Frescoes of the Transfiguration Cathedral» (12+), report on the results of photographic documentation of the cathedral«s frescoes.

Museum of Military Glory (Uglichskaya St., 44a)

  • 12:00 — lecture «900 Days. Little-Known Aspects of the Siege of Leningrad» (12+);
