Roman Popov's Death: Organs Failed After Cancer Battle

The cause of death of 40-year-old Roman Popov — the star of the series «Police Officer from Rublyovka» — has become known. He had been battling brain cancer for the past seven years. As the wife of the star of «Police Officer from Rublyovka» recounted, at one point the disease receded, but this year there was a relapse, and Roman Popov partially lost his sight.
The actor«s filmography includes more than 30 works. Among the recent ones: »Three Friends, a Treasure, and Sailor Koshka«, »A Letter to Grandfather Frost«, »Love According to Freud«, and »Big Man«. He won the love of viewers thanks to the series »Police Officer from Rublyovka«. There, Popov played investigator Igor Mukhich. The artist appeared not only in the series but also in subsequent films that were released on the big screen.
As our colleagues from StarHit report, on October 11, Popov felt unwell. He was urgently hospitalized in serious condition. And at the same time, amid the fight with the disease, the actor developed other problems. Doctors diagnosed a perforated stomach ulcer, performed an emergency operation, and after some time, another one. A few days later, Roman«s condition worsened and he was connected to a ventilator.
A perforated stomach ulcer is the formation of a through hole in the stomach wall, which leads to the leakage of its contents into the abdominal cavity.
“We visited him almost every week, sang, walked together, did physical exercises, encouraged him as best we could. We were already planning to transfer him to rehabilitation. It seemed that everything would be fine. The only thing is, either his organs began to fail, or his heart couldn«t take it and stopped. We don»t know the causes yet, we are finding out what happened… Today at 13:15 Roman passed away…,” — told StarHit Natalya Gromova, producer and friend of Popov.
In the last months before hospitalization, the star of the series «Police Officer from Rublyovka» lived in a house outside the city, with his loved ones — wife, children, and mother — by his side. Because the family lacked money for treatment, Popov«s wife put their country home up for sale.
Recall that in 2018, the actor was given a terrible diagnosis — astrocytoma (brain cancer). His wife Yulia spoke about this. After the artist underwent a course of treatment, the disease receded, but this year there was a relapse, and Roman Popov partially lost his sight.
