Arkhangelsk's Kego Island Crossing to Host New Play

A promenade play based on Alexander Belyaev's Soviet sci-fi novel will premiere in Arkhangelsk, with audiences walking the pedestrian crossing to Kego Island.

In Arkhangelsk, the premiere of a promenade play based on the novel «Under the Arctic Sky» by famous Soviet science fiction writer Alexander Belyaev will take place. The audience will walk along the pedestrian crossing to Kego Island and back.

The project is directed by former actor of the Arkhangelsk Drama Theater Georgy Dievsky.

« «Here is another audio play by the Arkhangelsk Drama Theater ready. »Arctic Beyond Fantasy« — a walk from the drama theater to Kegostrov via the crossing, based on the work of Alexander Belyaev. Back in 2024, Georgy Dievsky created the sound part of the play. The recording involved Alexander Subbotin, Nikolay Varentsov, Artur Chemakin, and Anastasia Volchenko. The music was created by Artyom Tatarsky,» » said the director of the drama theater Sergey Samodov.

The duration of the theatrical walk will be one and a half hours. The first showings (daytime and evening) will take place on Saturday, January 24. The play can also be attended on January 25, 31, and February 1. A ticket costs 500 rubles (approximately $5 at current rates).

Previously, the drama theater presented another outdoor audio play — «Pomor Knots».
