In Tula Oblast, a criminal case has been opened against a 47-year-old man who has long avoided paying alimony for his minor daughter. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia (FSSP Russia).

The man owed over 1 million rubles (approx. $11,000 at current rates) in alimony. Initially, for such a high alimony debt, he was held administratively liable and assigned 60 hours of community service.

But the Tula resident did not serve the administrative punishment and did not pay alimony. In connection with this, a criminal case was opened under Article 157 of the Russian Criminal Code – failure to pay child support. The maximum criminal penalty facing the man is up to one year in prison.

The regional prosecutor«s office began an inspection of the administration of Plavsky District. The reason was numerous complaints about aggressive stray dogs. However, officials are not taking any action to address resident safety and capture the animals.
