Ryazan hospital chief suspected of another bribe
Ryazan investigators have uncovered a third bribery case against the chief doctor of the regional clinical hospital, Oleg Shalayev, who allegedly received money for insider information on medical equipment purchases.

Shalayev will be held in custody for two months as the bribery investigation proceeds.

Ryazan investigators have uncovered an additional bribery episode involving the chief doctor of the regional clinical hospital, Oleg Shalayev. This is already the third criminal incident, the regional Investigative Committee department reported.
The investigation«s theory is similar to previous cases. In 2025, Oleg Shalayev allegedly received money in exchange for informing an acquaintance entrepreneur about procurement terms for medical equipment and materials, helping him win auctions.
For the third time, according to the Investigative Committee for the Ryazan Region, the chief doctor was paid more than 600,000 rubles (about $6,000 at current rates).
The total amount of bribes in all episodes is 1.3 million rubles (approximately $13,000 at current rates).
The criminal investigation continues. Law enforcement officers are checking if there were other bribery episodes and are securing the evidence base.
