Liski District Deputy Head Detained in Bribery Case

A deputy head of the Liski District administration in Voronezh Region has been detained on suspicion of taking a bribe, the regional Investigative Committee reported.

The deputy head of the Liski District administration was detained in Voronezh Region on suspicion of taking a bribe. This was reported by the regional Investigative Committee.
According to the investigation, on January 28, the official received 200,000 rubles (approximately $2,200 at current rates) from a resident of Liski at a gas station. For this amount, the deputy head was supposed to help with obtaining certain veterinary сопроводительных documents. The official was detained by representatives of the Investigative Committee together with police officers. The court will choose a measure of restraint.
A criminal case has already been initiated under the article of the Russian Criminal Code on taking a bribe on a large scale, committed with extortion. In the regional government, it was already reported that «the administration of Liski District is interested in an objective investigation and will assist the work of law enforcement agencies.»
The head of Liski District, Igor Kirnos (learn more about him in our material), has six deputies. According to the publication «Ploshchad», Dmitry Afanasenko was detained. He is still the head of the department of programs and rural development.
