ASPEK-Interstroy Director Sentenced for Bribery in Izhevsk

In Izhevsk, a verdict has been issued against the director of LLC «ASPEK-Interstroy» for giving a bribe to a public official. This was reported by the joint press service of the courts of Udmurtia.
According to available data, the company head handed over a bribe of 600,000 rubles (approximately $6,700 at current rates) to an inspector of the Federal Center for Construction Control. In return, the official was to provide general patronage to the firm in service matters and facilitate the conclusion of an illegal contract between LLC «ASPEK-Interstroy» and Municipal Unitary Enterprise «Izhvodokanal» (MUP).
A criminal case was initiated under paragraph «b» of part 4 of Article 291 of the Russian Criminal Code, «Giving a bribe to a public official through an intermediary for committing illegal actions on a large scale».
The man pleaded guilty. According to the decision of the Pervomaysky District Court of Izhevsk, he was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment with a probation period of 2 years and a fine of 6 million rubles (approximately $67,000 at current rates). Additionally, the company head must pay 600,000 rubles (about $6,700) to the state treasury.
