Unusual mushrooms with bumpy caps were photographed in Krasnoyarsk’s Akademgorodok and shared in a local VKontakte (VK) community. A mushroom forager identified them as the so‑called Cheshuychatka Yanu, a warm‑loving species.

Unusual mushrooms were found in Krasnoyarsk’s Akademgorodok. Photos of them were posted in the microdistrict’s community on «VKontakte (VK)».

«Akadem keeps surprising with its variety of mushrooms this year», — they captioned the photos, which were uploaded back on 10 September. The images show mushrooms with bumpy caps.

In the comments, people noted that there are many such mushrooms in the «Gremyachaya Griva» ecopark (Krasnoyarsk).

Mushroom forager Tatyana Kotova told NGS24.RU that the find in Akademgorodok is the so‑called Cheshuychatka Yanu. It is associated with beeches, considered a warm‑loving species, and therefore grows in relatively southern regions. Clusters most often appear at the base of trees and on stumps; it does not like to climb high up trunks and is considered conditionally edible, so it is better not to eat it.

Earlier, Krasnoyarsk resident Darya Cherkasskaya shared with the NGS24.RU editorial team photos of unusual mushrooms she found in the national park «Krasnoyarskiye Stolby».
