Rospotrebnadzor reported on the death of a resident of Tyumen Oblast after a cat bite. The information was published in the publication rayon72, citing representatives of the agency.
“The disease is dangerous not only for animals but also for people. In December of last year, a resident of Berdyuzhsky District was bitten by a cat that had contact with a sick animal in the forest. The woman did not report the incident and did not seek medical help. Later, she died from rabies infection,” writes the resource citing Elena Mytsik, a representative of Rospotrebnadzor.
Experts also noted that the lethality of this disease is one hundred percent.
Earlier we reported that a fox was found in one of the large housing complexes in Tyumen. But approaching it may be dangerous — all due to the same rabies. Moreover, foxes are not the only carriers of the disease. We publish the opinion of a specialist who told about who else can carry the rabies virus in the region.
