Faustine, a lamb with snow-white eyelashes, born at Novosibirsk Zoo

The lamb will only be visible to the public during the summer months.
A Loy sheep lamb has been born at Novosibirsk Zoo. The new arrival was born on 23 December 2025. The institution«s Telegram channel published the first images of the newborn lamb.
The lamb is nearing one month old and has grown noticeably.
«Let us introduce you to Faustine, the son of Flotilia and Artamon. His unique name came from a creative combination of letters from his parents» names. Faustine has a distinctive appearance: unlike his parents, he has no dark markings around his eyes, and his eyelashes are snow-white,« the zoo said.
Over the past month, little Faustine has grown noticeably and become stronger under the careful watch of his parents. The active little one delights zoo staff daily with his developmental progress.
Because Loy sheep are heat-loving, Faustine and his parents are currently in a special room away from the public exhibition. The young lamb will only be visible in the summer.
Previously, NGS reported that due to heavy snowfall, the entrance to the Pallas«s cat house at Novosibirsk Zoo was buried.
