Boris the Scottish Fold Cat Rescued in Novosibirsk

Volunteers found the Scottish Fold cat in a weakened state on a city street last fall.
In Novosibirsk, a Scottish Fold cat named Boris is being placed for adoption. He was rescued from death by volunteers.

Boris is seeking adoptive owners who can offer a tranquil and understanding home.
As told to NGS by one of the founders of the First City Shelter, Tatiana Palkina, Boris was found in October 2025 on a lawn. The cat was in very serious condition and taken to a clinic; he wasn«t eating on his own, so he was force-fed and put on IV drips. The volunteers weren»t sure if the cat would survive.
‘For the first time in my almost 30 years of practice, I«ve seen such a thing as hanging skin. You know, when very overweight people lose weight quickly, the skin hangs loose. That»s how it was on his belly: the skin literally reached the floor. I assume he lived in a good family, with a person who loved him, was spoiled, overfed, a fat cat. And then something else happened and the cat was simply thrown out. He lay on the lawn and started waiting for death. That is, he didn«t know how to look for food, hide — nothing,’ shared Tatiana Palkina.
Boris is about three years old, he is litter-trained, neutered, vaccinated, and tested for deadly viruses — he is healthy. They are looking for calm owners for him because he still flinches when someone enters the room. He is also afraid of other animals, so it would be ideal for him to be the only pet.
To take the cat, you can contact the curator through the Telegram channel «Gorpriyut. Cat Department and More».
On January 15, NGS told the story of Morien, a chocolate-colored hunter cat.
